The Glens Falls Vegan crew finally had a chance to check out Bistro LeRoux, a chef owned and operated restaurant offering “sophisticated Adirondack Cuisine made with only the season’s freshest ingredients.”
Upon looking over the menu, we noticed a TVP stuffed pepper that looked like it could be easily veganized by leaving off the sour cream, however we were quickly informed about quite a few other options.
We ordered the Truffled Pomme Frites as an appetizer, leaving off the pesto and aioli, which were delicious. The chef also sent us a complimentary vegan fried shrimp appetizer made from konjac root powder and served with guacamole and corn salsa, which wasn’t on the menu, but we think it should be. Amazing!
For our dinners we tried each of the three options suggested to us:
There weren’t any vegan dessert options, but between our appetizers, dinner and the bread and olive oil they serve we were stuffed. And we’re very much looking forward to the new menu items as soon as the fall/winter menu comes out.
All in all we were extremely happy with our dinners, as well as the informed and helpful staff. Definitely stop in, mention that you saw our blog post, and enjoy! You won’t be sorry!
