As is often the case, life happened and we at Glens Falls Vegan got busy. But we’re back and we’re currently working on updating and adding listings!
What’s your favorite vegan meal in town? Are they listed on this site yet? Let us know of any updates or new listings we need to add by commenting here.
Thank you for being here and for enjoying vegan food in Glens Falls!
Hi, Jess. I’m Jo. Due to a family tragedy (I just lost my baby sister a few days ago ), I might be moving up to the Glens Falls area where my sister spent much of the last years of her life. I’m the only vegan in the family and don’t drive, so I’m curious as to just how “involved” Glens Falls is regarding veganism. It’s been a very expensive nightmare to frequent Cumberland Farms (great coffee, though) and find no actual food (other than snacks) that I can eat. Had the vegan pizza at Pizza Jerks, and that was ok, but I’m eager to try Rock Hill Bakehouse and Cafe. That seems to be the only true vegan eatery in GF. Walking down Glen street and seeing Downtown Social, I thought it would be a cool place to hang out, but taking a look at the menu was disappointing. 🙁 Unfortunately, that is too often the case, no matter where you go, although when you get to bigger cities like Troy and Albany (of which I’m pretty close by), you seem to have more options. I hope things change for the better and more vegan places start opening up. I’m looking forward to the GF Vegan Festival coming up, so at least that’s something. 🙂
Hi Jo, I’m so sorry for your loss. We’re in the process of updating our restaurant listings here but I’ll let you know a few of my faves. Rock Hill Bakehouse is a go-to. It’s all vegan. Their pizza is amazing. My favorite is the Hawaiian. And the pastries are all amazing. I hope you get to try it! I also love sushi from Sweet Rice and the vegan pizza from Go Play with Your Food. It’s flatbread, so totally different than Rock Hill. Best of both worlds. There really are a lot of vegan options in town. We’re very lucky! Hope to see you at the Vegan Festival! – Jess
